It seems all over the country this time of the year, we hear reports of snow and stormy weather. Unfortunately, colds, flu, and other nasty bugs frequently accompany winter weather. As you fill your daily bucket during this time of year, consider taking care of your health as a top priority! You are well aware of the usual list:
- Eat well
- Exercise
- Get plenty of rest
But did you know that researcher James Pennebaker of the University of Texas-Austin and his colleagues found that people who wrote about meaningful topics, even four times a week for 20 minutes actually enhanced their immune system functioning? You might not think about writing on the same list as eating, exercise and sleep for good health, but science proves otherwise.
So while you’re curled up indoors, pick up your journal and pen and start writing! Also, feel free to share any thoughts or questions with me or discuss your response on our blog below.
