- After reviewing what you have written in the past few weeks, create a 3-column chart either in your personal journal or on your computer.
- On the left side of the chart, note a goal you would like to accomplish in the coming year. It might be organizing a pile of notes from workshops you attended during the year, writing some difficult e-mails, or clearing out a closet.
- In the middle column of your chart, note what it would feel like if you accomplished that goal. You will need to use your imagination, but you can do it. It might be something like “I would feel great,” or “I would be proud of myself,” or “I think I might have more energy to do other things.”
- Finally on the right side of the column, note what it would feel like if you didn’t accomplish that goal. It might be something like, “I wouldn’t feel good about myself,” or “I would feel depressed about it.”
Take good care,

Greetings Susan...
The good old "Pleasure/Pain" principle seems to work well. Imagine the "pain" you feel by not finishing some task, turn that into the "pleasure" derived from completing the task...then gloat over how smart and industrious you were for getting it done :-)!
All the best,
Jon
