The Magic of Goals

While many people live day to day without any particular goals, there are a number of reasons it makes sense to think about goals. Here are a few thoughts about goals:
  •  Those who have goals, particularly written goals are much more likely to achieve what they want as opposed to those who have no goals. What would it be like getting in your car with no idea of where you are going, no map, and no GPS?
  • Focusing on what you want helps you to both consciously and unconsciously be searching for what you need. Say for example you need a new pair of black shoes. You get a very clear idea of the type of shoes you are looking for and within an hour, you have found exactly what you need. How did that happen?
  • You are feeling stuck in a rut about your work, your relationship, and basically your life. Without a goal, how do you plan to get out of the rut?
