Change "Have to" to "Choose to"

This month we will be looking at the power of a small attitude adjustment to make big changes. For this week we will be experimenting with  "Have to" and changing it to "Choose to."

Consider all of the things you need to get done in a day, a week, or this month. Think about the way you describe those tasks. Do any of these sound familiar?
  • I have to take my car in for a tune-up.

  • I have to get this report done by 5:00 pm.

  • I have to pick up the kids and take them to practice.

  • I have to buy groceries, make a casserole, and take it to a potluck dinner.
This week, notice anytime you say, "have to" and write it down each time you do so. Then try substituting "choose to" and notice what happens.

Share what you observe below.

Take good care,
