Keeping A Balance

When looking at goals, it's tempting to focus on one or two areas of your life and forget about the other areas. Here is a way to consider goals to create balance. Imagine a blank piece of paper. Divide the page into four equal rectangles. Write one of these words in each rectangle: Mind, Body, Heart, and Spirit.

As you consider your goals for the remainder of the year, place each goal in the appropriate quadrant. For example:

Mind:
  • What would you like to study or learn?
  •  Is there a new skill you have put off tackling?
Body:
  • Are there medical concerns you need to attend to?
  • Does your diet or your sleeping habits need some tweaking?
Heart:
  • Are there relationships in your life needing attention?
  • Do you have feelings that need to be expressed?
Spirit:
  • How are you feeding your soul?
  • Do you need to be doing rituals such as meditation or journaling?

As you look at your goals for the rest of the year, consider each of these areas to make sure you are in balance with yourself.

Great advice, it is very hard to keep balance between these four elements.
