Engaging With Your Strengths Brings Happiness

Last week I mentioned there is an important reason for knowing your own talents. But, part of the answer may surprise you. The most obvious part of the answer is that when you know your talents or strengths, there is pleasure in sharing these gifts. But more of a surprise may be the knowledge that when you are engaged with your strengths, you are happier, too. For example,
  • A high school history teacher who also teaches senior adults at a local community college

  • A novelist who has recently begun writing children’s books

  • An accountant who visits middle schools to teach kids about budgeting money

  • A florist who contributes leftover flowers to hospitals
This week, purposely become even more engaged with your talents or strengths. You may find yourself surprisingly happier by doing what you do best. Share what you learn below.
