Daily Gratitude

In the field of positive psychology, studies have shown that ongoing expression of gratitude enhances well-being. Keeping a gratitude list is a fairly simple thing to set up and to do on a daily basis. Here is all you need to do:
  • Each night, before you go to sleep, write down three things for which you are grateful
  • Consider big things (i.e. the home you live in, your health)
  • Consider small things (i.e. an e-mail from a friend, an especially nice dinner)
  • Consider things that are easy to overlook (i.e. you can walk, you can work)
Now, write three things down in a journal or notebook. It’s easier if you keep your gratitude lists in one place. As you keep your gratitude list over the next several days, notice how you feel.
