Looking Backward to See Forward

This week we will look at another method of clarifying your goals. For now, find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Close your eyes and imagine it is ten years from now. If it is easier, try imagining five years from now, or even one year.

Now pretend you are looking back in time. What do you see and feel?
  • Has your life gone the way you had planned?
  • Are you happy with the way things have turned out?
  • What pleases you?
  • What do you wish you had done differently?
No need to get bogged down or panic! This was "just pretend." However, there may be some thoughts or feelings that have come up, as well as some ideas to clarify how you may want to change or tweak your current goals. Looking "backward" in time is a powerful way to envision what you need to do today.

Let us know what you learned, by sharing your experience below.
