What to do When Your Bucket is Empty

“My get up and go got up and left.” Do you ever feel like that---just plain worn out?

It happens to everyone at one point or another. So what do you do when your bucket is empty and your well has run dry? This month we will explore the answers. In the meantime, here are some things to try:
  • Stop. Consider what must absolutely get done today. Otherwise, let it go for now.

  • Do what you need to do, but let go of doing it perfectly. Sometimes “good enough” really is just that!

  • Take a nap. If your body is letting you know it needs a rest, listen!

  • When you have run out of steam, allow yourself to do the easy stuff first. It needs to get done anyway. Save more challenging tasks for later.

These ideas all sound great to me. I have just taken in my 92 yr. old mother and she needs full care. All too often I forget to take a break or to just take care of my own needs.
