Listening for Beautiful Sounds

Continuing our exploration of quiet this month, there are other places besides nature where sound can be as pleasing as quiet. Consider these sounds:
  • Your favorite piece of classical music being played by a professional orchestra.

  • Your favorite song being sung by your favorite singer.

  • Your child or grandchild’s first word.

  • Your children or grandchildren singing happy birthday to you.

  • Your child or grandchild’s first music recital or performance in a school play.

  • Hearing a long lost friend on the phone.

  • Hearing the voice of someone you love.

  • Hearing your dog greet you at the door after a long day.

  • Hearing unbridled pleasurable laughter.
This week, focus on your favorite sounds and how you feel as you listen.

Share what you observe below.

Take good care,
