Love, Loss and Letting Go

My last surviving aunt died a week ago. I had a very sweet relationship with her and I will miss her. Her death got me thinking about love and loss, which will serve as our theme for the month.

Take a few moments and think about someone in your life who you have lost––a parent, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent, child, friend, or a favorite pet. Begin a list of favorite memories. For example:
  • Baking cookies with your grandmother

  • Your father helping you learn to ride a bicycle

  • The great smile your friend had and her infectious laugh

  • The look on your dog’s face when he chewed on your shoe and got caught

  • The college professor that helped you appreciate poetry
This week, spend a few minutes remembering special moments with someone you have lost. Jot down what you remember and notice what you feel. Share what you learn below.

Take good care,
