Planning for Independence

So far this month we have considered what independence means, what you might do if you were more independent, and what choices you would need to make to become more independent. In this final week of the month, we will consider actually planning for independence. Here are suggested steps:
  1. Determine one area in your life in which you will assert your independence.

  2. Determine what specific steps you will need to take.

  3. Determine a reasonable time frame for the steps you will take.

  4. Commit to these steps, by noting them in your paper, phone, or on-line planner.

  5. Repeat steps for each new area of change.
As July, the month of celebrating our country’s independence comes to an end; do continue taking your own steps toward independence. Share your discoveries below.
