This month we have looked at procrastination, when it is apt to come up and why. What will you do if you find yourself procrastinating? Consider these actions:
- Start. Just begin the project or whatever you have been procrastinating.
- Continue for ten minutes. You can do almost anything for ten minutes, can’t you?
- Plan to reward yourself for starting.
- Create a written dialogue between the part of you procrastinating and the part of you that wants to stop procrastinating. Give both parts an opportunity to have their say.
This week, record your experience(s) with procrastination. Consider this thought from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Whatever you can do, or dream, you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."
