One of the best ways to get to where you want to go is being conscious of where you are now. Asking yourself these three questions repeatedly --- What do I want? What am I doing? What am I feeling? is one way of becoming conscious of where you are now.
Another way is to be mindful. That means, slowing down, and noticing what is going on around you.
How else can you find out where you are now? Try this: Pick up a pen and paper. Start writing about everything you notice, feel or think.
Asking yourself questions, slowing down and becoming more mindful, and writing about what you notice are all ways to figure out where you are now. It is only when you know where you are now, that you can figure out where you want to go.
