Last week I mentioned the adage, “April showers bring May flowers,” a lovely re-frame about looking for what is positive. To be even more proactive, I want to introduce the three good things exercise.
At the end of each day, think of three good things that happened during the day. For example:
- You finally finished cleaning out the hall closet that had been bugging you for weeks
- A friend you haven’t seen in years is in town and visited you
- You tried a new recipe and it turned out perfectly
- You thought you lost your favorite pair of earrings, but you unexpectedly found them
- You saw a great new film that made you both laugh and cry
Give it a try; at the end of each day, write down three good things that happened. Share what you learned below. Stay tuned; more next week.
Take good care,
