Engaging in Your Strengths

Ideally, you have found work in your life in which you are able to use your strengths. But if you have not, here are some things to consider:
  • You love art, color, and appreciate beauty, but you work in a drab cubicle. What can you do? (Bring in colorful posters, have a small vase of fresh flowers).
  • You love to be around others, but your job can be very isolating. What can you do? (Make sure your leisure time activities are with others; connect with others via social media, or on-line connections).
  • You enjoy quiet, contemplative moments by yourself, but your job has you constantly engaging with others. What can you do?  (Be sure and find time daily to be alone, schedule retreat time when possible).
  • You love physical activity, but you work indoors at a desk all day. What can you do? (Take breaks and walk around outside, get up early and jog around the block, plan to stop at the gym before or after work).
Sometimes it takes effort to be able to do the things we love and are best at.  This week, make some time to think about the changes you can make in your life. Write some notes to yourself and share your thoughts below.

Take good care!
