How can Optimism and Pessimism Both Serve You?

What did you notice when you observed the Glass Half Full people in your life and the Glass Half Empty people? Consider:
  • Did you become more aware of your own behavior?

  • To which group do you feel most connected?
Of course, no one is optimistic all the time. No one is happy all the time, either. Being pessimistic has advantages at times. Being sad is appropriate at certain times.
For example:
  • If you are preparing a presentation, you might think about all the things that could go wrong. Being pessimistic can help you be better prepared.

  • You are about to take a long road trip. Being pessimistic can help you take care of car maintenance prior to leaving.
This week, do some journaling about the times in your life when being both optimistic and pessimistic can serve you. Share your thoughts below.
Take good care!
