- Look at each goal or resolution separately. Spend some time with it. Is it realistic? Is it reasonable? Are you still interested or passionate about it? Do some journaling and explore your answers to these questions.
- If you revise your goals or resolutions, try substituting “I get to” instead of “I have to.” It will make a world of difference in your attitude.
- Keep the goal; change the due date. Just because you have an unrealistic due date, doesn’t mean you have to throw out the goal. Just change the due date!
- Add something fun. Pick a goal that you plan to do for pure pleasure, like planting flowers, or taking Saturday afternoon naps. It may change the way you feel about writing down goals and resolutions!
