Are Hidden Addictions Holding You Back?

When you think about addictions, you are likely to think about obvious ones such as smoking, drugs, or alcohol. But sometimes, addictions can be hard to spot or recognize. Consider:
  • You are doing research on-line, you are focused and know just what you are looking for. But then something catches your eye or distracts you and two hours later you realize you have gotten completely off-track.

  • You baked two dozen of your favorite cookies to take to a potluck. Throughout the day you find yourself wandering into the kitchen to “just have one taste.” By the time you are ready to leave for the potluck, you only have one dozen cookies left.

  • You sit down to watch T.V. for half an hour after dinner. Yawning, you suddenly realize the whole evening is gone and you are still watching T.V.
Think about what hidden addictions may be holding you back!

Let us know your thoughts by taking just a moment to share your experience below!

I am hindered by my addictive habit- computer word games. I ease my feeling of guilt by saying ,
"At least I am exercising my mind. "
I turn to pc games because there is no prep and no clean up time. I hate this addiction as I am not writing or painting, which are outlets for my creativity. :(
