More on Hidden Addictions

Last week we began to look at hidden addictions, those things we do that quietly undermine our goals. Consider:
  • Naps are not just for babies! Many well-known people successfully use power naps to re-energize and focus. But oversleeping, or sleeping to avoid doing what you need to do is another story.

  • If you buy two pairs of shoes on sale, wouldn’t three pairs be better? You don’t actually need the third pair, but really, they are such a great price!
Doing research on-line, eating a cookie, watching a T.V. show, napping, and buying shoes are all inherently fine activities. The problem comes in when these activities shift from healthy to unhealthy.

This week, do some thinking and writing about what your hidden addictions might be. Then consider:
  • When are my hidden addictions okay and when do they become less than healthy?

  • What changes do I need to make about my hidden addictions?
Let us know your thoughts by taking just a moment to share your experience below!

Take good care,
