The Not So Random Nature of Things

The word “random” has taken on new meaning in the last several years. It is used with increasing frequency to describe something that appears to be arbitrary or unplanned—as in a random occurrence. Certainly in your daily bucket, random things do happen, but this month let’s look at things that are decidedly not random. Here’s a list I came up with:
  • The blossoming of a cherry tree in my front yard (how did the cherry tree know when to blossom)?

  • Longer days, later sunsets (how does the sun know what time to set)?

  • More and louder birdsong (how do birds know when to return in the spring)?
This week, do some thinking about these questions. Begin to notice and make some notes about what appears to be random in your own life and what appears to be not so random. Let us know your thoughts by taking just a moment to share your experience below!

Take good care,

Your article on Not So Random Things reminded me of some of the daily things I take for granted everyday, and the people around me who I am so very grateful for.

Be grateful for the not so random things in your life!

Thank you for reminding me!!
