Last week I introduced a three-question exercise—want, doing, and feeling. If you had an opportunity to work with these three powerful questions, what did you find?
Here are the questions, again:
- What do I want?
- What am I doing?
- What am I feeling?
Why does this exercise work? First of all, to get anything, you have to know what it is you’re seeking, or what it is that you want (What do I want?) For example, “I want to get re-focused on my project of organizing my photos.”
Next, to get what you want, you need to figure out what you’re currently doing (What am I doing?). For example, “I am procrastinating even starting this project because it is so overwhelming.”
Then, notice what you are feeling, (What am I feeling?). For example, “I am feeling frustrated and annoyed at myself.”
Then back to “What am I feeling?” For example, “I want to make a plan to get this project done!”
If you haven’t tried this yet, do so this week, and share what you learned below.

Take good care,
