There are moments when we do things we need to do, but are not necessarily what we want to do. Here are a few of mine:
- Unloading the dishwasher
- Calling the dentist
- Vacuuming the carpet
There are also moments when we do things, simply because we want to, but we also gain something for ourselves. Here are some things on my list:
- I frequently make eye contact and smile at people I don’t know in an elevator, in the grocery store, or in passing
- I pay attention to things going on around me and have been known to be quite silly with babies
- Make an effort to connect with someone standing alone in social settings
