Imagine It Is Already Done

Another way to think about your goals and intentions for the New Year is to imagine how you would feel at some future time after you have accomplished a particular goal. Researcher Laura King suggests writing about your goals as though they have already happened helps maintain focus and a positive attitude. Consider:
  • It is now June of this year and I have just completed my college degree.

  • It is now April and I have just heard my poems will be published in a poetry magazine.

  • It is now the end of the year and I have reached my weight goal.

  • It is now the next quarter and I have transitioned easily into my new job.
Experiment this week with writing about your goals and intentions as if they were already done. Notice how this makes you feel and share your below.

Take good care!
